  • Title: Assistant Director of Finance (ADOF)

Role Overview

  • Serve as a key member of the Finance team, supporting the Director of Finance in overseeing the hotel’s financial operations

  • Lead day-to-day finance functions while ensuring compliance with company policies and local regulations

  • Drive financial performance through reporting, forecasting, analysis, internal controls, and operational support

  • Foster a positive and collaborative working environment focused on employee growth and wellbeing

Key Responsibilities

Financial Reporting & Analysis

  • Prepare and submit accurate, timely, and comprehensive financial reports

  • Analyze monthly financial statements and explain variances against budget and forecasts

  • Support management decision-making through financial insights and operational analysis

  • Ensure accurate P&L reporting and proper cost allocation

Budgeting, Forecasting & Planning

  • Assist with annual strategic business planning and operational budgeting

  • Support forecasting activities and month-end financial processes

  • Monitor departmental performance against budget, forecast, and prior year results

  • Prepare payroll trackers and financial spending analyses

Audit, Compliance & Internal Controls

  • Maintain strong accounting and operational control environments

  • Oversee internal, external, and regulatory audits

  • Ensure compliance with hotel policies, financial regulations, and tax requirements

  • Manage balance sheet reconciliations, cash control, and banking reconciliations

Operational & Commercial Support

  • Monitor hotel operational performance and identify financial improvement opportunities

  • Support pricing, profitability, and cost management initiatives

  • Develop understanding of hotel operations including rooms, food & beverage, events, spa, and guest services

  • Assist with purchase ledger and related finance tasks

Leadership & Team Management

  • Support development and performance management of finance team members

  • Foster a collaborative and positive team culture

  • Provide coaching, constructive feedback, and training opportunities

  • Ensure cross-training and onboarding processes are effectively implemented

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance or Accounting

  • 3+ years of experience in a similar finance leadership role within hospitality

  • Pre-opening hotel experience preferred

  • Strong financial analysis, budgeting, and reporting capabilities

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Strong commercial and operational business understanding

  • Ability to multitask, work under pressure, and meet deadlines

  • High attention to detail and strong organizational skills

Technical Skills

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications

  • Experience with hotel industry financial systems preferred (e.g., SUN/PAS, Purchase Plus)

  • Comfortable using finance and operational software systems
