What the job entails
As an AI Engineer, you will design, build, and improve products powered by generative AI and large language models. You will contribute across the software development lifecycle, translating business and user needs into reliable, scalable AI-enabled applications.
Your responsibilities will include developing AI features, integrating AI-related SaaS tools, evaluating model performance, and improving production applications. You will collaborate with product and engineering stakeholders and may contribute to prompt and context engineering, LLM fine-tuning and benchmarking, data pipelines, cloud infrastructure, performance optimization, and secure deployment.
This is a permanent, full-time position based in Tokyo with a hybrid work model. It offers the opportunity to influence emerging AI capabilities and help deliver innovative solutions within the fintech sector.
Key requirements
Professional experience in software development using one or more programming languages.
Hands-on experience building products or applications with generative AI and large language models.
Practical programming experience with Python or a comparable language.
Familiarity with AI-related SaaS tools and modern AI development practices.
Ability to collaborate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders in a product-focused environment.
Strong interest in fintech and AI-powered financial services.
Experience with prompt engineering, context engineering, LLM fine-tuning, or model benchmarking.
Knowledge of natural language processing, machine learning, data engineering, or ETL pipelines.
Familiarity with AWS, Google Cloud, Azure, Terraform, Snowflake, dbt, Airflow, or Redshift.
Understanding of containers, performance tuning, secure coding, or modern front-end technologies such as React or Vue.js.
Conversational English proficiency and the ability to work effectively in a multicultural environment.
Based in Tokyo and comfortable working full time in a hybrid model.
