Position Summary
The Art Director plays a key role in the strategy, conception, and execution of creative work, leading projects from initial brief through to final delivery. This position focuses on developing innovative ideas that solve client challenges while pushing creative boundaries.
Key Responsibilities
Creative Concept Development
Conceive and develop innovative ideas that address key client challenges
Think beyond briefs to propose forward-thinking and impactful creative solutions
Contribute to building groundbreaking and influential creative work
Collaboration & Cross-functional Work
Partner with copywriters, strategists, designers, and technologists to develop concepts
Work within multidisciplinary teams to deliver cohesive and engaging outputs
Project Ownership & Execution
Lead creative direction from concept to final delivery
Ensure high-quality design outputs that meet client standards
Take ownership of project deliverables and maintain creative excellence
Business & Innovation Contribution
Support new business pitches and key agency initiatives
Drive development of innovative and persuasive ideas
Inspire new ways of thinking and approach creative challenges proactively
Qualifications
Required
Strong art direction skills with strategic and conceptual thinking ability
Extensive experience working on client projects in Japan
Ability to communicate effectively in both Japanese and English
Proven experience collaborating across creative and technical teams
Strong industry-relevant experience
Preferred
Compelling portfolio demonstrating conceptual thinking and design execution
Experience contributing to new business development and pitches
