Overview
A global premium spirits company is seeking an Emerging Brands Assistant Brand Manager to support brand growth, marketing execution, and strategic initiatives across a portfolio of emerging brands. This role works closely with regional and global stakeholders to drive brand visibility, product launches, and integrated marketing activities within the Japan market.
Position Summary
The Assistant Brand Manager will support the Senior Emerging Brand Manager in developing and executing brand strategies, managing marketing projects, and coordinating cross-functional initiatives. The role collaborates closely with internal teams including Sales, Finance, Supply Chain, and regional/global marketing teams, as well as external agencies and partners.
Main Responsibilities
Brand Management
Support the Senior Emerging Brand Manager in overall strategy development and execution for emerging brands including whiskey and white spirits portfolios
Execute marketing projects aligned with annual marketing plans and fiscal objectives
Lead or support briefing, development, and approval processes for local creative assets, activations, and global campaign adaptations
Support new product launches including development of promotional materials and launch execution
Track project timelines, deliverables, and marketing performance results
Manage project budgets independently, including monthly reporting and cost allocation management
Leadership & Communication
Act as a brand ambassador promoting strong brand knowledge and execution excellence
Collaborate closely with commercial teams and distribution partners to support education and execution initiatives
Manage agency relationships to ensure deliverables align with brand objectives and timelines
Coordinate design and production of marketing materials in partnership with marketing, trade marketing, IMC, and commercial teams
Participate in internal cross-functional meetings and support special projects as needed
Strategy & Insights
Monitor and analyze market, consumer, customer, and category data to identify growth opportunities
Develop actionable consumer, trade, and category insights to support brand strategy and decision-making
Utilize frameworks, research, and campaign insights to strengthen planning and execution quality
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education required
Minimum 3 years of marketing experience
Experience within the consumer goods industry
Advanced Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint skills
Professional-level Japanese and English communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or a related field
Experience in eCommerce and digital marketing initiatives
Experience managing integrated marketing campaigns and agency relationships
Interest in premium consumer brands, lifestyle marketing, and brand storytelling
