What the job entails
The FP&A Manager will play a key leadership role within the Corporate Planning & Finance team in Tokyo, supporting financial performance, strategic decision-making, and operational excellence for the Japan market. Reporting to the Finance Director/Head of Finance Japan, this role partners closely with Commercial, Marketing, Supply Chain, Purchasing, and RGM teams to strengthen planning, analysis, and business steering.
You will be responsible for financial analysis across retail and other sales channels, as well as supporting the Long Range Plan, Annual Budget, and Quarterly Reforecast processes. The role also includes monthly closing support, variance analysis, and reporting on actuals versus budget or reforecast. In addition, you will help improve internal controls, drive process efficiency through digitalization and automation initiatives such as Power BI and SAP, and translate Japan market dynamics into clear, actionable insights for HQ stakeholders.
Key requirements / What we look for
5+ years of experience in Controlling and/or FP&A
Experience in an international environment; global retail or FMCG preferred
Strong English and Japanese communication skills
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or Economics
Strong analytical and presentation skills; [suggestion: MBA, CPA, or CFA is a plus]
