A leading Japan-focused private equity fund is expanding its investment team as it continues active portfolio deployment and prepares for the launch of its next fund. The firm is recognized for one of the highest investment volumes in the domestic market, with extensive experience across primary investments and add-on acquisitions.

Position Summary
The Investment Professional will participate across the full investment lifecycle, including sourcing, execution, portfolio value creation, and exit activities. Depending on seniority, the role may involve leading deal teams, coordinating investment theses, and developing proprietary sourcing networks.
Key Responsibilities
Investment Execution
Lead or support sourcing, evaluation, and execution of investment opportunities
Conduct financial analysis, valuation, and transaction structuring
Prepare investment materials and support investment committee discussions
Portfolio Value Creation
Work closely with portfolio companies on operational and strategic initiatives
Support business transformation and growth strategies
Collaborate with management teams and stakeholders to drive value creation
Deal Management
Coordinate due diligence processes and transaction execution
Support negotiations and documentation processes
Manage relationships with advisors, lenders, and external stakeholders
Strategic Sourcing
Develop and maintain industry and professional networks
Identify proprietary investment opportunities
Build investment theses aligned with market trends and sector opportunities
Qualifications
Required
Strong motivation to build a career within private equity investing
Alignment with a hands-on, problem-solving investment philosophy
Minimum 5 years of professional experience
Minimum 3 years of experience in M&A or related finance fields
Experience in one or more of the following:
Corporate finance
Financial modeling (including LBO modeling)
Valuation analysis
Transaction documentation
Preferred
Experience leading deal teams or investment projects
Ability to coordinate investment strategies and investment narratives
Existing professional network contributing to deal sourcing opportunities
Strong analytical and strategic thinking capabilities

Compensation
Base Compensation (Including Regular Bonus)
Manager: Approximately 13M – 25M JPY
Principal: Approximately 16M – 35M JPY
Partner: Negotiable
Special Bonus
Additional performance-based bonus linked to carried interest distribution
Bonus determined based on overall fund performance and individual contribution
Historical cases include bonuses exceeding multiple times annual compensation at senior levels
Sign-on Bonus
Sign-on incentives may be offered in addition to annual compensation
Typical range: Approximately 3M – 8M JPY
