The role offers exposure to project planning, scheduling, documentation, reporting, risk management and resource planning. It is suited to someone who enjoys working across projects, bringing clarity to delivery activities and supporting collaboration between Japanese- and English-speaking stakeholders.
What the job entails
The PMO will support the planning, coordination and delivery of projects from an onsite Tokyo environment. The role will involve maintaining project schedules, tracking budgets, preparing status reports and ensuring that project documentation is accurate and up to date.
Key responsibilities will include monitoring risks and issues, supporting resource planning, coordinating stakeholders and helping project teams work effectively across Agile and Waterfall environments. The successful candidate will also contribute to PMO process improvement and use AI tools to support documentation and presentation materials.
This is a full-time position requiring strong written and spoken Japanese and English, with regular interaction across project teams and stakeholders.
Key requirements
Three to five years’ experience in PMO or project coordination roles.
Strong written and spoken Japanese and English; bilingual capability is required.
Knowledge of both Agile and Waterfall project management methodologies.
Experience using Jira, Asana, ClickUp, Monday.com or similar project management tools.
Practical ability to use AI tools for documentation and presentation materials.
Experience supporting project planning, scheduling and budget tracking.
Ability to prepare status reports and maintain project documentation.
Experience with risk and issue tracking, stakeholder communication and resource planning.
An organised, detail-oriented approach to coordinating multiple project activities.
PMP or CAPM certification is preferred.
Experience in IT, financial services or cryptocurrency is preferred.
