Overview
A publicly listed digital asset and technology company is seeking a bilingual PR & Corporate Communications Lead to drive corporate reputation, strategic messaging, and stakeholder communications across both internal and external audiences. This role will partner closely with executive leadership to shape corporate narratives, manage media relations, support investor and board communications, and lead internal communication initiatives. The position requires strong experience within a Japan-listed company environment, including crisis communications, disclosure obligations, governance considerations, and reputation management.
Key Responsibilities
External PR & Media Relations
• Develop and execute external public relations strategies to strengthen corporate visibility and credibility across financial, technology, and digital asset sectors
• Build and maintain relationships with journalists, editors, media outlets, podcast hosts, and industry influencers in Japan and internationally
• Manage press releases, media kits, briefing materials, and announcement communications
• Secure media opportunities, interviews, and thought leadership placements for senior executives
• Monitor media coverage and public sentiment, proactively managing corporate reputation
• Respond to media inquiries and sensitive issues in a timely and strategic manner
• Support crisis communication planning and execution, including response frameworks, escalation procedures, holding statements, and executive guidance
Corporate Communications
• Develop and maintain a consistent corporate narrative aligned with company mission and long-term strategic objectives
• Partner with executive leadership on shareholder communications, board materials, investor messaging, and strategic announcements
• Collaborate with Investor Relations, Legal, Product, Marketing, and other business functions to ensure message consistency and accuracy
• Draft and edit executive speeches, articles, thought leadership content, shareholder letters, and corporate communications
Internal Communications
• Lead internal communication programs that promote transparency, employee engagement, and organizational alignment
• Develop internal newsletters, executive updates, announcements, and company-wide communications
• Support all-hands meetings, leadership forums, and internal Q&A sessions
• Act as a communications partner across departments to strengthen organizational culture and collaboration
Required Qualifications
• 5+ years of experience in public relations, corporate communications, journalism, or related fields
• Experience managing communications for publicly listed companies in Japan
• Proven success building relationships with media and securing coverage in national and international publications
• Experience supporting executive communications and corporate storytelling initiatives
• Strong understanding of corporate governance, disclosure requirements, compliance considerations, and reputation management
• Native-level Japanese and fluent English communication skills
• Exceptional writing, editing, and storytelling capabilities in both Japanese and English
• Strong stakeholder management and relationship-building skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience within technology, financial services, fintech, digital assets, cryptocurrency, or blockchain-related industries
