What the job entails
As Principal, you will play a senior leadership role across the full investment lifecycle, from independently sourcing and evaluating opportunities through transaction execution and portfolio value creation. Based in Tokyo, you will lead transactions, develop relationships with senior management and board members, and help drive governance improvements and strategic change.
You will bring a combination of investment expertise, commercial judgment, and operational perspective to each opportunity. The role requires confident engagement with executives and stakeholders, as well as the ability to build and leverage a strong network to support deal origination and execution. You will be expected to operate with a high degree of independence while contributing meaningfully to the firm’s investment strategy and portfolio performance.
Key requirements
10+ years of professional experience in private equity or related investment roles.
Demonstrated track record of leading transactions from opportunity evaluation through execution.
Experience independently sourcing and assessing investment opportunities.
Strong understanding of transaction analysis, investment decision-making, and value creation.
Proven ability to drive improvements at the board or operational level.
Experience working directly with senior management, board members, and other executive stakeholders.
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
A well-developed professional network that can support deal sourcing and execution.
Strong strategic thinking, commercial judgment, and analytical capabilities.
Ability to operate independently, manage complex priorities, and influence stakeholders in a senior leadership environment.

Willingness to work from Tokyo, Japan.
