What the job entails
As a Sales Engineer, you will support customers in the semiconductor and advanced manufacturing sectors by identifying needs, proposing suitable equipment solutions, and managing sales activities from initial discussions through order completion. You will visit customer factories on site, develop relationships with existing customers, and work closely with technical and internal teams to ensure proposals meet operational requirements.
Your responsibilities will include preparing proposals and quotations, coordinating orders, supporting invoicing and accounts receivable processes, and following projects through to completion. You will serve as a trusted point of contact, combining technical understanding with consultative sales skills to deliver practical, customer-focused solutions. This position is based in Kitakami, Iwate, and offers the opportunity to build deep expertise in semiconductor manufacturing equipment while contributing directly to customer satisfaction and commercial results.
Key requirements
Experience in sales within the semiconductor industry, or as a field engineer supporting semiconductor manufacturing equipment.
Alternatively, sales or technical experience with a manufacturing equipment manufacturer.
Knowledge of semiconductor or LCD manufacturing equipment.
Experience with solution sales to existing customers and the ability to identify and develop additional customer opportunities.
Experience preparing proposals and quotations and managing activities related to orders, invoicing, and accounts receivable.
Ability to visit customer factories on site and build strong working relationships with customer stakeholders.
Strong communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills.
Japanese business communication ability.
A customer-focused, consultative approach and the ability to translate technical requirements into practical commercial solutions.
Willingness to work on site in Kitakami, Iwate, Japan.
