Position: Commercial Lead / Client Partner (Agency)
Role Overview
A global agency is seeking a commercially driven client leader to manage key accounts and drive business growth in the Japan market. This role acts as a strategic liaison between enterprise clients and internal cross-functional teams, transforming business challenges into scalable, high-value solutions.
The position balances both expanding existing client relationships and acquiring new business opportunities.
Key Responsibilities
Account & Relationship Management
Oversee senior-level relationships with key client accounts in Japan
Ensure long-term partnership growth, client satisfaction, and retention
Revenue Growth (Existing Accounts)
Identify opportunities within current accounts to expand services and increase revenue
Drive organic growth through strategic upselling and cross-selling
New Business Development
Lead the evaluation and conversion of new business opportunities
Manage inbound leads and competitive pitch processes
Strategic Planning & Scoping
Translate complex or unclear client needs into structured proposals and project scopes
Develop statements of work (SOWs) and integrated solutions aligned with client objectives
Financial & Operational Management
Oversee account performance, including forecasting, pipeline management, and revenue planning
Ensure commercial success and operational efficiency across engagements
Cross-Functional Leadership
Coordinate and lead internal teams across strategy, design, technology, and production
Align multidisciplinary teams to deliver measurable business outcomes
Required Qualifications
Native-level Japanese and fluent English for working in both local and global environments
Extensive experience (8+ years) in a creative, digital, or integrated agency setting
Proven track record of managing large-scale client accounts in Japan
Strong commercial acumen with demonstrated success in revenue growth and winning new business
Ability to structure ambiguous requirements and operate effectively in fast-paced environments
