What the Job Entails
As Senior Designer, Workplace, you will lead office interior design projects in Tokyo from initial concept through detailed design and construction supervision. You will translate workplace strategies and client objectives into compelling, functional spatial solutions while maintaining high standards of design quality.
Your responsibilities will include developing layouts, presentations, and design documentation; coordinating with project managers, clients, and other stakeholders; and supporting design supervision during construction. You will collaborate with design teams across the Asia-Pacific region and globally on large-scale projects for domestic and international clients. In addition, you will build trusted client relationships, support business development activities, and mentor junior designers. This is an on-site role offering the opportunity to influence major workplace environments and contribute to an integrated, end-to-end design approach.
Key Requirements
10 or more years of professional experience in architecture or interior design.
At least five years of experience designing workplace or office environments.
Demonstrated experience delivering large-scale interior design projects.
Full project lifecycle experience, from basic planning and concept development through construction supervision.
Strong ability to translate workplace strategy and client objectives into effective spatial design.
Experience preparing layouts, presentations, detailed design documents, and project deliverables.
Proven client-facing and presentation experience, with the ability to communicate design concepts clearly.
Ability to coordinate effectively with project managers, clients, contractors, and multidisciplinary stakeholders.
Proficiency in AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite, and Microsoft Office.
Strong collaboration skills and the ability to work effectively with APAC and global teams.
Experience mentoring or guiding junior designers.
Professional fluency in English is preferred; a TOEIC score of approximately 700 or higher is a useful benchmark.
Experience with Revit or SketchUp is preferred.
A first-class architect license or equivalent qualification is preferred.
LEED Accredited Professional or WELL certification is preferred.
Global or cross-cultural project experience is preferred.
