Job Title: Solutions Architect (Cloud & Legacy Modernization)
Role Overview
A global technology-driven organization is seeking a Solutions Architect to lead large-scale modernization initiatives, focusing on migrating legacy enterprise systems to a cloud-based environment.
This role combines cloud architecture, application modernization, and AI-driven transformation, supporting the transition of mission-critical systems to modern platforms while improving performance, scalability, and maintainability.
Key Responsibilities
Modernization Strategy & Architecture
Assess legacy systems, including databases, applications, and dependencies
Define modernization strategies, roadmaps, and target architectures
Design cloud-based environments, including compute, networking, security, and database configurations
Evaluate compatibility and optimize schemas, workflows, and system performance
Application & Database Modernization
Lead refactoring of legacy code (e.g., database procedures, batch processes, and applications)
Support migration and upgrade of legacy application frameworks to modern environments
Redesign system components for improved scalability and cloud-native compatibility
Identify and mitigate performance risks and technical limitations
AI-Driven Transformation
Utilize AI/LLM tools to analyze existing codebases and system structures
Support automated code conversion, documentation generation, and dependency analysis
Generate test cases, migration procedures, and operational documentation using automation tools
Apply AI to performance monitoring, log analysis, and risk identification
Cloud Architecture & Integration
Design and implement cloud infrastructure (networking, compute, storage, security)
Support data integration and migration processes across systems
Optimize cost, performance, and scalability through automation and monitoring
Collaboration & Delivery
Work closely with internal teams, including architecture, database, cloud, and AI specialists
Coordinate with stakeholders to ensure smooth project execution
Lead end-to-end delivery of modernization initiatives
Requirements
Mandatory
Native-level Japanese proficiency
8+ years of experience as a solutions architect or technical lead
Strong expertise in database and middleware modernization and migration
Experience with legacy system refactoring and modernization
Deep understanding of cloud infrastructure (networking, security, identity management, etc.)
Experience creating architecture documentation and migration plans
Hands-on experience using AI tools for code analysis, automation, or system modernization
Preferred
Cloud architecture certifications
Experience with Linux-based environments and automation tools
Knowledge of enterprise system modernization (e.g., finance, security, large-scale systems)
Experience with AI-driven development, code generation, or system integration
Familiarity with programming or scripting languages and AI workflows
Soft Skills
Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
Strong collaboration skills across cross-functional and distributed teams
