Job Title: Senior Account Executive

Location: Tokyo, Japan

Role Overview

A global enterprise software company is seeking a Senior Account Executive to drive new business acquisition and manage the full sales cycle within a designated territory.

This role focuses on identifying new opportunities, engaging with senior stakeholders, and closing complex deals while building long-term customer relationships. The position also requires collaboration with partners such as system integrators and channel organizations to expand market reach.

Key Responsibilities
  • Identify and develop new business opportunities within an assigned territory

  • Build and maintain relationships with senior executives across business and IT functions

  • Manage the full sales cycle from initial discovery through to deal closure

  • Understand customer needs and align solutions to both technical and business requirements

  • Clearly communicate value propositions, including ROI and cost-benefit analysis

  • Lead contract negotiations and drive upsell and cross-sell opportunities

  • Achieve quarterly and annual revenue targets through strategic territory planning

  • Develop and execute account plans, including target account lists and regional strategies

  • Generate pipeline through prospecting and expansion within existing accounts

  • Collaborate with global and local partners to co-sell and promote solutions

Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience

  • 10+ years of experience in enterprise software sales (direct and indirect)

  • Experience in application development, SaaS, PaaS, or cloud-based solutions

  • Strong background in complex, consultative sales processes

  • Proven success in managing named accounts and closing high-value deals

  • Experience working with system integrators, channel partners, and alliances

  • Ability to engage and influence executive-level stakeholders

  • Strong communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills

  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently
