About the Role
A global snowboard and outdoor brand is seeking a Wholesale & Resort Business Manager to lead wholesale and resort business operations across Japan. This leadership role is responsible for driving sales and profitability, strengthening dealer and resort partnerships, enhancing customer experience standards, and supporting community engagement through events and partnerships.
The position will oversee Area Managers while collaborating closely with merchandising, marketing, finance, and global headquarters teams to develop business strategies, expand distribution networks, and strengthen brand presence within the snowboard and resort market.
Key Responsibilities
• Develop and execute wholesale and resort business sales strategies for snowboard equipment, rental products, and related categories
• Build sales forecasts and business plans in collaboration with global headquarters and local merchandising teams
• Manage and expand dealer and resort partner networks across Japan
• Plan and execute dealer exhibitions, key account events, and on-snow demonstrations
• Design and implement training programs for dealers and resort partners
• Oversee cross-channel business operations across wholesale, retail, and resort rental channels
• Conduct ongoing market analysis, competitor research, and sales tracking while reporting insights to internal stakeholders and global teams
• Monitor in-season sales performance and respond quickly to business challenges and opportunities
• Establish and lead merchandising standards across all territories and channels
• Represent the brand professionally with dealers, customers, media, and external partners
• Lead, manage, coach, and evaluate Area Managers and sales teams
• Support partnership stores with operational guidance and business advice
• Collaborate closely with marketing, merchandising, finance, and other internal departments
• Drive customer service excellence and foster a high-performance team culture
Requirements
• Passion for snowboarding and active involvement in snowboard culture
• Minimum 5 years of wholesale business experience, preferably within durable consumer goods, sports, apparel, or outdoor industries
• Experience developing and managing business plans and sales forecasts
• Team management experience including coaching, evaluation, and performance development
• Strong understanding of KPI management within retail or wholesale environments
• Knowledge of inbound tourism and resort business environments
• Excellent leadership, communication, networking, and negotiation skills
• Experience planning and executing sales events and promotional activities
• Experience developing and implementing training programs
• Corporate sales or key account management experience
• Native-level Japanese communication skills
• Business-level English communication skills for collaboration with global teams
