A global healthcare assistance organization is seeking a Coordinating Nurse to support international clients and insured individuals requiring medical assistance services in Japan.
This role focuses on medical case coordination, healthcare provider communication, and clinical support to ensure patients receive appropriate and timely care aligned with insurance coverage and assistance program requirements. The position operates within a fast-paced international environment requiring strong clinical judgment, coordination skills, and cross-functional communication.
Key Responsibilities
Gather medical, logistical, and case-related information to facilitate patient referrals to appropriate healthcare providers and medical facilities
Review treatment requests and support medical case management and coverage coordination activities
Coordinate referrals to:
Medical specialists
Hospitals
Appropriate levels of care
Conduct telephone-based medical assessments and monitor patient treatment progress
Prepare clear and accurate:
Medical summaries
Case reports
Internal documentation for insurance and assistance program reviews
Ensure accurate handling, documentation, and communication of medical information
Liaise with:
Treating physicians
Hospitals
Internal medical teams
Escalate complex or sensitive medical cases to senior medical leadership when required
Support coordination related to:
Urgent medical situations
Complex cases
Medical transportation arrangements
Maintain updated information regarding healthcare providers and medical facilities
Participate in:
Medical facility reviews
Audits
Related reporting activities
Requirements
Experience & Background
Clinical experience in:
Acute care settings
Hospital-based environments
Related clinical healthcare fields
Experience in medical coordination, patient support, or healthcare assistance environments preferred
