Overview
A global industrial organization is seeking a Local Division Manager to lead its Service Division within the Motion Business in Japan. This is a senior leadership role responsible for driving business growth, operational excellence, and strategic alignment within a multinational environment.
This position offers full ownership of business performance, including P&L responsibility, and the opportunity to lead a team while shaping long-term strategy in collaboration with global stakeholders.
Position Summary
As the head of the Service Division, you will oversee a business of approximately JPY 1.5 billion, managing end-to-end operations from strategy development to execution. You will lead a team of around 20 members and drive sustainable growth, profitability, and service excellence.
Key Responsibilities
Business Strategy & Execution
Develop and execute overall strategies for service, sales, and marketing activities in Japan
Align division strategy with global and cross-functional business objectives
Drive implementation plans to achieve business growth
P&L & Performance Management
Take full ownership of P&L, including financial targets, productivity, and investments
Set clear KPIs and monitor performance through reporting and analysis
Ensure achievement of revenue and profitability targets
Operations Management
Oversee daily service operations to ensure efficiency and profitability
Improve service productivity and operational performance
Lead continuous improvement initiatives based on customer feedback (e.g., NPS)
Business Development & Portfolio Growth
Expand service offerings through enhancement of existing products and development of new solutions
Ensure alignment with global strategy and market needs
Leadership & Team Management
Lead and develop a team of approximately 20 members
Drive a high-performance culture with strong ownership and accountability
Collaborate with internal stakeholders across functions and regions
Qualifications
Required
Technical college degree or higher
Business-level proficiency in Japanese and English
Experience in service, sales, and/or marketing functions
Basic knowledge of finance and P&L management
Team management experience (approx. 20 members)
Preferred
Experience in multinational or global organizations
Engineering background
Hands-on experience as a field service engineer
Industry experience in similar industrial or engineering sectors

Compensation & Benefits
Base Salary: JPY 9.4M – 14.5M + incentive (target 15%)
Total Compensation: JPY 10.8M – 16.6M (including incentive at 100% achievement)
Flexible working hours (9:00 – 17:30 with 1-hour break)
Weekends, national holidays, and seasonal holidays provided
Frequent domestic travel and occasional international travel
