What the job entails
As Government Relations Manager, you will lead the development and execution of policy and engagement strategies, working closely with government stakeholders and clients to influence outcomes that support business and organisational objectives. You will play a central role in identifying relevant policy developments, advising on political and stakeholder dynamics, and turning insight into clear action.
The role also combines project oversight, client relationship management, and team leadership. You will manage multiple workstreams to ensure deadlines, budgets, and objectives are met, while building trusted relationships with clients and mentoring a collaborative team. This is a hands-on, strategic position for someone who can balance analysis, delivery, and stakeholder management in equal measure.
Key requirements / What we look for
Strong background in public policy, government relations, or government affairs
Proven experience managing teams and complex stakeholder relationships
Strategic thinker with sound political and policy judgement
Excellent project management and client relationship skills
Fluent written and spoken English and Japanese
Degree in Public Policy, Political Science, or a related field preferred
