What the job entails
As a Guidewire Developer, you will contribute to the design, development, configuration and implementation of Guidewire solutions for a client project in Tokyo. Working with project stakeholders and delivery teams, you will understand business requirements and translate them into robust, maintainable technology solutions.
Your responsibilities will include developing and configuring Guidewire applications, supporting integrations, participating in testing and resolving technical issues throughout the delivery lifecycle. You will also contribute to technical documentation, code reviews and continuous improvement, ensuring that solutions meet agreed quality and performance standards.
This contract position is suited to a developer who enjoys collaborative, client-focused work and is motivated to deliver high-quality solutions within a structured project team.
Key requirements
Professional software development experience, preferably in insurance or financial services.
Practical experience developing or configuring Guidewire applications, such as PolicyCenter, ClaimCenter or BillingCenter.
Strong understanding of software development principles, object-oriented programming and application integration.
Experience with Java and related development frameworks or technologies.
Ability to analyse business and technical requirements and translate them into effective system solutions.
Familiarity with testing, debugging, code reviews and technical documentation.
Understanding of application programming interfaces, databases and enterprise system integrations.
Strong problem-solving skills and excellent attention to detail.
Clear communication skills when working with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
A collaborative, adaptable approach to working within a project team.
Professional working proficiency in English; Japanese language ability is advantageous.
Availability to work in Tokyo on a contract basis.
