What the Job Entails
As a member of the M&A team, you will support the evaluation and execution of investment and strategic transaction opportunities in Japan and internationally. The role will involve conducting market and company research, building and reviewing financial analyses, assessing business performance and growth potential, and preparing materials for internal decision-making. You will work closely with colleagues and external advisors throughout the transaction lifecycle, from initial opportunity assessment through due diligence, negotiation, and execution. This position offers broad exposure to businesses, industries, and senior stakeholders, while providing the opportunity to contribute directly to high-value transactions. Success will require intellectual curiosity, analytical rigor, sound commercial judgment, and the ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
Key Requirements
Experience in M&A, investment banking, private equity, corporate finance, transaction advisory, or a closely related field.
Strong financial modeling, valuation, and analytical skills.
Ability to evaluate business performance, market dynamics, investment opportunities, and transaction risks.
Experience preparing clear, concise presentations and investment materials for senior stakeholders.
Excellent research, problem-solving, and attention-to-detail capabilities.
Strong written and verbal communication skills in English; Japanese-language proficiency is highly valued for working in the Japanese market.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver high-quality work under demanding deadlines.
Collaborative approach and confidence working with internal teams, management teams, and external advisors.
High level of integrity, discretion, commercial awareness, and professional judgment.
Willingness to work in Tokyo on a permanent basis.
