What the job entails

The Marketing Manager will serve as the category owner for Whiskey & Rum in Japan, defining the medium- and long-term strategy for the portfolio and leading the innovation roadmap. This person will own category performance across net sales, profit, market share, and brand equity, while shaping portfolio roles, pricing architecture, and annual investment allocation.

The role combines leadership and hands-on execution. It includes managing and coaching two Brand Managers, approving brand strategies and annual plans, and supporting high-priority campaigns and cross-functional problem solving. The Marketing Manager will also lead planning and governance, oversee agency execution, collaborate closely with global and regional teams, and partner with Sales, Finance, Channel & Customer Marketing, and SCM to ensure strong commercial alignment and high-quality delivery.

Key requirements / What we look for

  • 7–12 years of progressive experience in brand or category management in FMCG, beverages, luxury, or related sectors

  • Strong experience leading integrated 360° campaigns and portfolio strategy

  • Solid financial acumen in pricing, mix, margin, forecasting, and business casing

  • Strong analytical skills and familiarity with market and consumer data platforms

  • Proven agency leadership and creative judgment

  • Native-level Japanese and business-level English

  • Demonstrated people leadership with the ability to stay hands-on when needed
