Overview

A global technology and manufacturing organization is seeking a Manufacturing Process Engineer to support the development and optimization of advanced production processes. The role focuses on process engineering, quality improvement, supplier management, and production technology enhancement across precision manufacturing environments.

This position offers the opportunity to work with complex materials and manufacturing technologies while collaborating with both domestic and international teams.

Key Responsibilities
Manufacturing Process Development
  • Develop and optimize manufacturing processes involving glass and metal machining

  • Support thermoforming processes for glass and resin materials

  • Improve dry and wet film processing operations

  • Enhance inspection and quality control procedures

Defect Analysis & Process Improvement
  • Investigate manufacturing defects and implement corrective actions

  • Utilize statistical analysis, thermodynamics, and material analysis methods

  • Support process improvements related to optical and vacuum technologies

Supplier & Production Support
  • Provide technical support to existing suppliers and manufacturing partners

  • Evaluate and onboard new suppliers

  • Collaborate with vendors to improve manufacturing quality and efficiency

Equipment Management
  • Introduce and maintain manufacturing and measurement equipment

  • Support machining systems, thermal processing equipment, and inspection devices

  • Drive equipment optimization and continuous improvement initiatives

Documentation & Validation
  • Prepare technical documentation including work instructions and inspection reports

  • Create validation and verification documentation for manufacturing processes

  • Support design modifications and confirm effectiveness of implemented improvements

Global Collaboration & Automation
  • Respond to technical inquiries from internal and external stakeholders

  • Collaborate with overseas teams supporting globally manufactured products

  • Promote automation and digitalization initiatives within manufacturing operations

  • Support general engineering maintenance and production activities

Qualifications
Required
  • Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD degree in Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, Chemistry, or related field

  • Business-level Japanese proficiency

  • Business-level English communication skills (approximately TOEIC 700 equivalent or above)

Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree holders: approximately 5+ years of relevant experience

  • Master’s degree holders: approximately 3+ years of relevant experience

  • PhD holders: early-career candidates welcome (0–2 years experience)

Preferred
  • Experience in advanced manufacturing or precision engineering environments

  • Knowledge of material analysis, thermal processing, or optical technologies

  • Experience with process improvement and production optimization

  • Familiarity with automation or manufacturing digitalization initiatives
