What the Job Entails
As Principal Global Capitalist, you will independently lead investment activities from analysis through execution, contributing to the identification, evaluation, and completion of value-oriented investment opportunities. You will develop robust financial analyses, assess business fundamentals, and present clear recommendations to investment team leadership.
The role carries significant responsibility in finalizing transactions and shaping strategic initiatives. You will work closely with colleagues across an international team, contribute to investment discussions, and help strengthen the team’s overall capabilities. You will also mentor junior professionals and support their development toward greater ownership and leadership.
Based in Shibuya, Tokyo, this is a permanent hybrid position combining approximately three days in the office with two days of remote work each week.
Key Requirements
Demonstrated experience in value investing, with a strong understanding of business fundamentals and long-term value creation.
Excellent financial analysis and modeling skills, with the ability to evaluate investment opportunities and communicate conclusions clearly.
Experience leading investment activities independently and contributing meaningfully to transaction execution and final investment decisions.
Fluency in both Japanese and English, with the ability to communicate effectively in Japanese in a professional environment. JLPT N1 certification is preferred but not required.
Experience in venture capital, private equity, investment banking, or management consulting is advantageous.
Strong communication, collaboration, and relationship-building skills within an international team.
A thoughtful, proactive, and disciplined approach to analyzing opportunities and managing multiple priorities.
Demonstrated interest in mentoring colleagues and contributing to the development of a high-performing investment team.
