Overview

A global leader in the life sciences sector is seeking a Product Marketing Specialist to support marketing initiatives in Japan. The organization operates as part of a large international group focused on advancing healthcare innovation, partnering with customers across research, biopharma, and advanced therapies.

This role is based in Tokyo and works closely with local, regional (APAC), and global teams to drive marketing strategy and execution.

Position Summary

The Product Marketing Specialist will be responsible for planning and executing integrated marketing campaigns, supporting product launches, and driving demand generation. The role requires strong collaboration across teams, data-driven decision-making, and the ability to localize global strategies for the Japanese market.

Key Responsibilities

Marketing Strategy & Campaign Execution

  • Plan and execute integrated marketing campaigns aligned with regional and global strategies

  • Define and track KPIs (lead generation, pipeline impact, revenue contribution)

  • Optimize campaign performance based on data insights

Go-to-Market & Product Support

  • Adapt global go-to-market strategies for the local market

  • Support new product launches and growth of existing product portfolios

  • Develop localized messaging and campaign strategies

Market Research & Customer Insights

  • Conduct market research and customer analysis

  • Translate insights into value propositions and positioning

  • Represent the voice of the local customer in global discussions

Lead Management & CRM

  • Manage and qualify inbound leads using structured frameworks (e.g., BANT)

  • Ensure accurate CRM tracking and effective handover to sales teams

  • Improve lead quality and conversion rates

Brand & Compliance

  • Ensure alignment with global brand guidelines across all activities

  • Maintain compliance with internal policies and regulatory standards

Digital Marketing & Tools

  • Utilize marketing automation and CRM tools for demand generation

  • Support lead nurturing and campaign performance tracking

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in a life sciences-related field

  • Understanding of pharmaceutical markets (e.g., generics, biosimilars)

  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills

  • Business-level English for global collaboration

Preferred

  • 3+ years of product marketing experience

  • 5+ years of overall experience in the life sciences industry

  • Experience with life science or bioprocess-related products

  • Background in lead generation and campaign execution

  • Experience in digital marketing or marketing communications

  • Familiarity with CRM and marketing automation tools (e.g., Salesforce, Marketo)
