Overview

A global enterprise software company is seeking an experienced Regional Sales Manager to lead and expand its mid-market/commercial business in Japan. This role focuses on driving revenue growth, building and developing a high-performing sales team, and executing strategic sales initiatives in a fast-paced environment.

The ideal candidate is a strong people leader with a coaching mindset, data-driven decision-making ability, and a proven track record in enterprise or commercial sales.

Key Responsibilities
  • Drive new business development by identifying and closing new customer opportunities

  • Recruit, lead, and mentor a team of full-cycle sales professionals

  • Own and execute sales strategies for key accounts, including negotiation and deal closure

  • Build and manage relationships with customers, acting as the primary point of contact

  • Identify expansion opportunities and promote account growth strategies

  • Map target accounts, including organizational structure, stakeholders, and existing technologies

  • Engage with senior decision-makers and executives to understand business challenges

  • Lead strategic discussions and presentations tailored to customer needs

  • Demonstrate product value through presentations, proposals, and live demonstrations

  • Guide prospects through the full sales cycle, from qualification to closing and post-sale success

Requirements
  • 10+ years of experience in quota-carrying sales roles (mid-market or commercial segment)

  • 3–5+ years of experience leading and managing sales teams

  • Strong leadership skills with a proven ability to hire, coach, and retain top talent

  • Solid understanding of cloud technologies, enterprise software, and market trends

  • Ability to manage complex sales cycles and stakeholder relationships

  • Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills

  • Experience engaging with IT decision-makers and executive-level stakeholders

  • Ability to identify opportunities, manage pipelines, and drive deals to closure

  • Strong business acumen and strategic thinking capability

  • Comfortable working in a high-growth, performance-driven environment
