What the job entails

This Tokyo-based role serves as a local representative supporting the Japan relationship management team for existing and prospective institutional clients. The position also provides support to the broader relationship management group, including colleagues in New York and other global offices. It is a hands-on, client-facing coordination role that combines relationship support, presentation preparation, reporting, and cross-functional communication.

Key responsibilities include preparing for client meetings, conference calls, and reporting by gathering portfolio data, creating custom client reports, and completing questionnaires. The role also involves responding to client questions and requests, developing presentation materials, updating databases, translating and revising marketing collateral, and accompanying team members on client visits. Success in this role requires strong coordination skills, sound judgment, and the ability to work effectively with internal partners to deliver high-quality client service.

Key requirements / What we look for
  • Fluency in both English and Japanese, with strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Bachelor’s degree; [suggestion: MBA or CFA progress is a plus]

  • 3–5 years of related experience preferred, or strong potential and willingness to learn

  • Proficiency with Bloomberg, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Morningstar

  • Comfortable working in a team-oriented, satellite-location environment
