What the job entails
The Sales Operations Director will play a critical role in improving sales effectiveness, profitability, and scalability across the business. Reporting to the Japan President/General Manager, this leader will build and maintain the commercial frameworks, tools, and analytics needed to support disciplined growth in Japan. The role spans pricing governance, sales performance management, forecasting, CRM ownership, and revenue operations.
Key responsibilities include setting discount and approval frameworks, standardizing deal governance, and ensuring contract compliance. The role will also define KPIs, manage pipeline health and forecast accuracy, support incentive compensation, and improve sales processes through training and best-practice sharing. In addition, the Director will provide actionable insights through analytics, partner with Finance and Operations on margin and budgeting matters, and support key account management and national marketing efforts. This is a high-impact role with full authority within its scope and direct leadership of a small team.
Key requirements / What we look for
Bachelor’s or master’s degree, or equivalent business experience
Proven experience in Sales Operations, Commercial Excellence, or Revenue Operations
Strong commercial and financial acumen
Advanced analytical skills in Excel, BI, and forecasting
Experience with CRM, CPQ, and sales process governance
Strong stakeholder management and change leadership skills
Japanese fluency and business-level English
