Position Overview
This role will lead medical and scientific initiatives supporting the commercialization and adoption of molecular diagnostic solutions. The successful candidate will serve as a key scientific expert, collaborating with healthcare professionals, research institutions, regulatory stakeholders, and internal teams to drive clinical evidence generation, medical education, and market development activities.
Key Responsibilities
Medical Strategy & Scientific Leadership
Develop and execute local Medical Affairs strategies aligned with business and clinical objectives.
Provide scientific and medical expertise across marketed products and future pipeline initiatives.
Ensure medical activities are conducted in compliance with applicable regulations and industry standards.
Serve as a trusted scientific advisor to cross-functional internal teams.
Key Opinion Leader (KOL) Engagement
Establish and maintain strong relationships with leading clinicians, researchers, and healthcare institutions.
Build and expand networks across areas such as oncology, pathology, respiratory medicine, gastroenterology, and preventive healthcare.
Organize scientific advisory boards, expert panels, and stakeholder engagement programs.
Represent the organization at scientific congresses, industry conferences, and educational events.
Clinical Evidence Generation
Support clinical studies, investigator-sponsored research, and real-world evidence initiatives.
Collaborate with investigators, academic institutions, laboratories, CROs, and research partners.
Contribute to publication strategies, including abstracts, posters, manuscripts, and scientific presentations.
Develop scientific communication plans to support evidence dissemination.
Medical Education & Scientific Communication
Design and deliver scientific training programs for internal teams, business partners, and healthcare professionals.
Support educational initiatives including workshops, webinars, seminars, and scientific meetings.
Review medical and scientific materials to ensure accuracy, quality, and compliance.
Regulatory & Market Access Support
Provide medical and scientific input for regulatory submissions and interactions with health authorities.
Support clinical development planning and evidence-generation activities.
Contribute scientific expertise to reimbursement and market access initiatives.
Commercial & Business Support
Partner with Sales, Marketing, and Business Development teams to support strategic initiatives.
Provide scientific support during customer engagements and partnership discussions.
Assist distributors, laboratory partners, and external stakeholders with technical and medical expertise.
Required Qualifications
Advanced degree in Medicine, Pharmacy, Life Sciences, Molecular Biology, Oncology, or a related scientific discipline.
5+ years of experience within Medical Affairs, Medical Science Liaison (MSL), Clinical Affairs, or related functions.
Experience within oncology, molecular diagnostics, genomics, precision medicine, biotechnology, or related fields.
Strong understanding of clinical research, evidence generation, and scientific communication.
Excellent presentation, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.
Business-level proficiency in both Japanese and English.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience supporting interactions with regulatory agencies and health authorities.
Established professional network within oncology, diagnostics, or precision medicine communities.
Experience supporting reimbursement, health economics, or market access initiatives.
Background in biotechnology, startup, or high-growth healthcare environments.
Track record of scientific publications and conference presentations.
