About the company

Client is a product and technology organisation supporting large-scale client companies to evolve their services and customer experiences through digital solutions. Working at the intersection of systems, business strategy, and service design, we focus on turning early-stage ideas into clear, decision-ready proposals that create measurable value.

Our culture values proactive problem-solving, analytical thinking, and the ability to simplify complex issues. Collaboration across business, UX, data, and IT is central to how we work, as is a mindset that looks for the core issue rather than simply responding to requests. We place strong emphasis on constructive engagement with senior stakeholders and on developing solutions that improve both service quality and customer experience.

What the job entails

As a Strategic Business Analyst, you will lead the upstream planning of digital initiatives within the systems function. This is a strategic role focused on identifying business, customer, and operational challenges at an early stage, then shaping them into clear requirements, digital strategies, and business cases that enable senior management to make informed decisions.

You will work closely with clients and cross-functional stakeholders across business, UX, data, and IT to define what should be created, why it is needed, and what value it will deliver. Core responsibilities include developing and presenting business cases, investment proposals, roadmaps, and management materials, as well as prioritising initiatives by business value, customer impact, feasibility, cost, and risk.

This is not a project delivery lead role. Once a business case is approved, the background, objectives, and requirements are handed over to the delivery team for implementation.

  • Experience creating business cases, investment proposals, and management documents

  • Proven collaboration with business and IT teams on digital or system initiatives

  • Native-level Japanese and intermediate English or above
