Overview
A global life sciences organization is seeking a Technical Service Specialist specializing in Bioinformatics to support customers, sales teams, and technical stakeholders through expert-level advisory and application support.
This role serves as a key technical contact for customers using bioinformatics-related products and services, providing guidance on product usage, troubleshooting, applications, and workflow optimization. The position requires close collaboration with sales, marketing, technical support, and R&D teams to ensure high customer satisfaction while contributing to business growth objectives.
Key Responsibilities
Serve as the primary customer contact for technical inquiries related to bioinformatics products and services
Provide prompt, accurate, and professional technical advisory support to customers
Build and maintain strong customer relationships while supporting commercial activities and business growth
Deliver technical guidance and troubleshooting support to customers and field sales teams through:
Email
Phone
Web meetings
Onsite visits
Demonstrate product applications, features, and technical advantages to customers
Collaborate cross-functionally with:
Sales teams
Marketing teams
Technical support teams
Research & Development teams
Investigate customer concerns, recommend corrective actions, and ensure proper follow-up
Support achievement of sales objectives and KPI targets while maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction
Requirements
Education & Knowledge
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification required
Academic background in:
Bioinformatics
Life Sciences
Molecular Biology
Biotechnology
Related scientific disciplines preferred
Master’s degree or Ph.D. preferred
Broad knowledge of bioinformatics methodologies and related analytical techniques required
Experience
2–5 years of relevant professional experience in:
Bioinformatics
Technical support
Scientific applications
Related laboratory or research environments
Technical support experience preferred
Clinical laboratory or research laboratory experience preferred
Skills & Competencies
Strong customer communication and relationship management skills
Ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly to scientific and non-scientific audiences
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
Ability to work collaboratively across technical and commercial teams

Language Requirements
Japanese: Business to native-level proficiency
English:
