Brand Manager
Location: Tokyo Headquarters
Overview
In this role, you will lead brand positioning and strategic direction for outdoor activity categories such as snow sports, climbing, and mountain running. Acting as the subject-matter expert for the business, you will guide the Brand Marketing team and ensure that insights from the outdoor community are fully reflected in brand initiatives. Your deep knowledge of outdoor culture, events, athletes, and product nuances will help influence brand strategy and storytelling across all channels.
Team Environment
The Brand Marketing team connects consumers with the brand through compelling content and experiences. The team works closely with global marketing functions, digital teams, and external partners to create meaningful, relevant, and impactful communications.
Key Responsibilities

Develop and maintain long-term brand strategy and positioning across key outdoor categories.

Build strong cross-functional relationships to ensure alignment on brand vision.

Support creation of annual marketing calendars, seasonal objectives, and product briefs.

Ensure strategic integration across all marketing channels, including brand storytelling, sports marketing, PR, events, and community activities.

Use consumer insights, industry trends, and competitive analysis to inform decision-making.

Build and sustain partnerships with key industry leaders and external collaborators.

Contribute to long-term marketing strategies, including event planning and athlete partnerships.

Act as an internal leader and advocate for brand integrity and long-term credibility.
Required Skills and Experience

Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, advertising, or a related discipline.

Over five years of relevant experience within a global organization, ideally focused on brand and product marketing in the outdoor sector.

Strong familiarity with the outdoor market and outdoor performance products.

Demonstrated success in developing strategic marketing plans.

Ability to build strong relationships across the outdoor industry.

Entrepreneurial, creative, and a strong problem solver.

Solid understanding of the brand’s consumer base and product portfolio.

Ability to adapt and stay creative in uncertain or changing environments.

Genuine passion for outdoor activities.

Excellent communication skills with native-level Japanese and business-level English.
