Role Overview
The Tokyo Corporates team consists of a Senior Director and the new hire, who will jointly manage credit ratings for Japanese non-financial corporations across various industries. The portfolio includes both public and private ratings, primarily for well-established companies.
Key Responsibilities
Take primary responsibility for analyzing a portfolio of corporate issuers, evaluating both quantitative and qualitative factors that influence creditworthiness.
Serve as a backup analyst for a separate group of Japanese issuers.
Present findings to internal rating committees, clearly articulating expectations for future performance and its impact on ratings.
Lead discussions with company management and communicate rating rationales to external stakeholders such as investors, bankers, and media through meetings, calls, press releases, and research reports.
Support outreach efforts by preparing materials and participating in meetings with potential clients.
Ensure compliance with Japanese regulatory requirements.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Accounting, or a related quantitative field.
Minimum of 7 years of relevant experience in credit or equity research, corporate banking, investment banking, or corporate finance.
Proficiency in both Japanese and English, especially in writing reports and presenting analytical insights.
Strong financial modeling and analytical skills.
