Retail Senior Trainer / Retail Trainer

Role Purpose

  • This role is responsible for planning, developing, and implementing retail training strategies that support overall business objectives.

  • The position aims to strengthen a customer-focused culture and contribute to retention, growth, and profitability.

  • The role reports to the Retail Excellence Manager and works closely with the global headquarters.

Key Responsibilities

Training Strategy and Localization

  • Adapt annual global training guidelines into locally relevant training plans.

  • Develop and execute training programs tailored to the local retail market to enhance sales capabilities.

Content Development and Translation

  • Translate training content into Japanese and adjust materials to ensure local clarity and effectiveness.

  • Maintain, update, and improve existing training documents and tools.

Training Delivery and Follow-up

  • Conduct in-person and virtual training sessions for retail teams.

  • Partner with Boutique Managers and in-store Trainers to reinforce learning and ensure consistent application on the sales floor.

Performance Improvement Initiatives

  • Review and analyze KPIs to identify performance gaps and training needs.

  • Work with Retail Managers and Boutique Managers to design, implement, and refine initiatives that support sales and service improvement.

Project Support and Cross-functional Collaboration

  • Assist in adapting global selling and service excellence projects for the local market.

  • Collaborate with external partners in developing training structures and participating in program delivery.

  • Work closely with internal teams to ensure smooth implementation and maximize the effectiveness of training initiatives.

Requirements

  • Ability to work with a collaborative, “One Team” mindset aligned with company culture.

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher.

  • Fluency in Japanese and conversational to business-level English (reading and writing required).

  • Minimum 2–3 years of experience in luxury retail or the watch/jewelry industry, ideally with sales and training experience.

  • Strong interpersonal communication and coaching skills.

  • Proactive and creative approach, with the ability to design training programs from the ground up.

  • Self-driven, analytical, and results-oriented.

  • High accountability and perseverance in achieving objectives.

  • Strong multitasking skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and comfort with various IT tools.
