CMS Engineer (Maintenance & Customization)
Location: Roppongi Hills, Tokyo
Working hours: 10:00–19:00 (1-hour break included)
Japanese Level: N2 or N1 (business-level or native proficiency required)
Position Overview
We are looking for a CMS Engineer to take charge of the maintenance and customization of a proprietary CMS acquired through M&A. You will be responsible for ensuring smooth operation, conducting updates, and implementing optimizations based on internal requests. This role offers the opportunity to oversee the performance of multiple media platforms and contribute to enhancing the overall value of the media ecosystem.
Responsibilities
Comprehensive maintenance of multiple CMS platforms
Manage frontend, backend, and infrastructure updates (e.g., ad tag revisions, minor design adjustments)
Understand and adapt to diverse CMS architectures (including legacy systems from acquisitions)
Rapidly assess and implement features in unfamiliar CMS environments
Collaborate with business and product managers to identify issues and propose feasible improvements
Lead actual implementation of proposed site enhancements
Promote documentation and smooth development workflow
Required Skills
2+ years of experience in CMS development using PHP, JavaScript, or similar
2+ years of experience working on cloud platforms (GCP, AWS, or Azure)
Ability to adapt to new CMS technologies and environments
Understanding of Domain-Driven Design (DDD), Clean Architecture, and microservices
Japanese proficiency at N2 or N1 level
Preferred Skills
Deep knowledge of GCP
Experience defining and managing product requirements
Experience with DevOps practices and Agile/Scrum development
Business-level English proficiency
