A global premium casual fashion brand
To drive the business by implementing strategic merchandise planning, managing inventory effectively, and optimizing in-season performance. This role will focus on Full Price and Wholesale channels (including owned boutiques, concessions, and e-commerce) and provide support to the Outlet channel.
PRIMARY FUNCTION & RESPONSIBILITIES
Drive the development of sales, inventory, and margin strategies that support overall channel goals, with a strong focus on in-season tactics to optimize sell-through and operational efficiency
Partner closely with the Wholesale team to design, execute, and manage robust tools for planning, forecasting, and performance reporting within the wholesale business
Oversee the accuracy and integrity of all inventory data and ensure it is consistently up to date
Lead and guide the order-to-buy team, overseeing their daily tasks, performance, and overall productivity
< 1. Pre-Season Planning >
Create and propose sales, product, and inventory strategies at the category level, ensuring alignment with overall channel goals, financial objectives, and key performance indicators
Oversee Open-to-Buy processes, store segmentation strategies, and generate actionable insights to support data-driven decision-making and business growth
Collaborate with the Buying and Merchandising teams to develop pre-season assortment and merchandise plans that support strategic objectives
< 2. In-Season Planning >
Sales, Inventory & Margin Management
Conduct weekly, monthly, and seasonal reviews of sales, inventory, and margin performance
Develop and implement strategic action plans to meet channel and company KPIs and financial goals
Analyze product performance to make informed decisions on replenishment and reorders
Distribution & Product Operations
Oversee allocation and distribution strategies for assigned sales channels
Manage product movement operations, including inter-store transfers, consolidations, and returns
Coordinate with Visual Merchandising and Supply Chain teams to support timely product launches based on delivery status
Markdown & Discount Strategy
Manage markdown planning and establish effective discount structures to optimize sell-through and profitability
Inventory Management & Forecasting
Provide monthly inventory reporting and insights to key stakeholders
Develop forecasting tools to enhance inventory planning and accuracy
Monitor inventory flow from primary sales channels to outlet locations
Track inbound shipments to the warehouse and ensure timely allocation and processing of returns
Recommend actionable strategies to meet inventory-related KPIs, such as months of supply and replenishment targets
QUALIFICATIONS
Required:
• More than 4 years of work experience of Merchandising Planning/Allocation at retail
• Strong data management skill
• Excellent analytical skills
• Highly proficient PC skills (EXCEL, WORD, PPT) *EXCEL functions such as IF, VLOOKUP, Macro are must
• Passion for fashion
• Business level communication skill both Japanese and English, both writing and verbal
• 4-year degree or above
• Team worker, self-starter, multi-tasked
