The successful candidate will be responsible for shaping and executing the technology strategy in alignment with business goals, with a focus on modernizing client and customer experiences through innovative technology solutions.
Key Responsibilities
1. People Leadership
Lead and manage full-stack software engineering teams across multiple countries
Drive talent development through upskilling, reskilling, hiring, and retention strategies
Foster a strong engineering culture
2. Stakeholder Engagement
Collaborate with business leaders to define and deliver technology capabilities that support digital transformation
Prioritize and manage the product backlog
Oversee vendor relationships, including SaaS and other technology providers
3. Technology Delivery
Lead the implementation of technology solutions that drive business outcomes
Manage the full software development lifecycle: architecture, design, development, testing, and production
Promote best practices in software engineering, including cloud adoption, AI/data integration, and emerging technologies
4. Agile & Modern Practices
Champion Agile methodologies and continuous delivery practices
Ensure alignment with security, privacy, and disaster recovery standards
Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Cybersecurity, Data Analytics, Infrastructure, Risk, Compliance, and Audit
5. Technical Leadership
Guide architecture decisions and technology stack selection
Lead the design and development of applications using modern platforms (e.g., Java, React, cloud-native technologies)
Conduct peer reviews and ensure compliance with development standards
Qualifications
Required:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field
10–15+ years of experience leading software engineering teams, preferably in financial services or technology sectors
Proven experience in building and deploying applications using modern technology stacks (e.g., public cloud platforms like Azure, AI/Big Data, APIs, web/mobile apps)
Strong understanding of software development practices including CI/CD, test-driven development, domain-driven design, and Agile methodologies
Demonstrated success in leading digital and cultural transformation initiatives
Bilingual proficiency in English and Japanese (business level)
Preferred:
Experience developing secure, resilient, and high-performance applications in regulated environments
Background in delivering mission-critical systems from the ground up
