Application Specialist – Clinical Diagnostics (Tokai / Hokuriku Region)

Overview
A global healthcare technology company with a long history in clinical diagnostics is seeking an Application Specialist to support its hematology-related product portfolio. The organization develops diagnostic solutions used by hospitals, reference laboratories, research facilities, and medical clinics worldwide to support both routine and specialized testing.
The Application Specialist will serve as a field-based technical expert, supporting customers in effectively implementing and utilizing diagnostic systems while maintaining strong professional relationships with healthcare institutions.
This position will focus on supporting customers in the Tokai and Hokuriku regions and will work closely with the commercial team to expand the company’s presence in the in vitro diagnostics (IVD) market in Japan.
Key Responsibilities
Provide technical and scientific support to healthcare institutions and laboratory customers within the assigned region
Assist customers in the effective use of diagnostic instruments and related products
Collaborate with regional sales representatives to strengthen relationships with key customers and industry experts
Work cross-functionally with internal teams such as customer support, service, and technical specialists to address client needs
Support the growth of the hematology business through strong customer engagement and product expertise
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in life sciences, medical technology, or a related field
(Technical college graduates holding a national Clinical Laboratory Technologist certification may also be considered)
AND either:
At least 3 years of experience working in a clinical laboratory as a licensed Clinical Laboratory Technologist
OR
At least 3 years of experience in a customer-facing technical role such as Application Specialist or Service Engineer within the diagnostics or medical device industry
Preferred Qualifications
Business-level English communication skills for professional interaction and internal collaboration
