Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced E-commerce Manager to lead and grow our direct-to-consumer online business. This role is responsible for managing the company’s owned digital sales channels, acting as the central driver of online revenue growth, customer experience optimization, and operational excellence.
The ideal candidate combines strategic thinking, strong analytical capability, and hands-on operational expertise, with the ability to collaborate cross-functionally and lead a high-performing e-commerce team.
Key Responsibilities
Define and execute the overall e-commerce strategy in alignment with business objectives
Oversee daily operations of the direct-to-consumer online store, ensuring stable performance and a high-quality customer experience
Drive traffic, conversion, and sales through digital initiatives such as SEO, paid search, email marketing, and social media campaigns
Analyze performance data including sales results, website traffic, and customer behavior to identify growth and optimization opportunities
Manage site updates such as homepage banners, campaign setups, and promotional content
Oversee e-commerce operations including inventory control, product setup, and order fulfillment
Lead UI/UX improvements to enhance the end-to-end purchasing journey and customer touchpoints
Collaborate with marketing, merchandising, supply chain, IT, logistics, and external partners to launch new products, campaigns, and site features
Work closely with the merchandising team to optimize product planning and inventory allocation
Improve logistics efficiency and reduce shipping costs in partnership with the logistics team
Manage relationships with third-party online platforms and marketplaces, including contract and commercial negotiations
Monitor industry trends, emerging technologies, and competitor activity to maintain a competitive online presence
Implement best practices across inventory management, pricing strategies, and fulfillment processes to improve speed and efficiency
Lead, coach, and develop a small to mid-sized e-commerce team, providing performance guidance and career support
Ensure brand consistency across all digital touchpoints, including product presentation, messaging, and customer communication
Required Qualifications
Minimum of 5 years’ experience in e-commerce management, preferably within fashion, lifestyle, or retail industries
Demonstrated success in driving online sales growth and achieving revenue targets, ideally with experience in OMO initiatives
Strong knowledge of digital marketing channels including SEO, SEM, email, and social media advertising
Advanced analytical skills with the ability to translate data into actionable insights
Experience managing and negotiating with third-party e-commerce platforms or marketplaces
Proven leadership skills with experience managing small to mid-sized teams
Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
Hands-on experience with e-commerce platforms and web analytics tools such as Google Analytics
Business-level proficiency in both Japanese and English (written and spoken)
Strong PC skills, particularly in Excel (including functions such as IF and VLOOKUP), PowerPoint, and Word
