Role Summary:

We are seeking a Global Marketing Program Manager to serve as the primary strategic and operational partner between our Japan-based marketing teams and the U.S. marketing organization.

This individual will:

  • Activate Japan-based marketing and design teams and resources to contribute effectively to global marketing efforts

  • Improve collaboration and speed, ensuring Japans substantial capabilities can be directed effectively toward global initiatives.

  • Operate with a bias for action and clear decision-making, helping influence and execute strategy, keep working

    across brand, PR, content, design, and product marketing

This role requires strong cross-cultural fluency, marketing experience and project leadership, and an ability to build trust across teams with different languages, contexts, and operating rhythms.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the primary partner in Japan for U.S./global marketing, ensuring that business needs are clearly understood, well-scoped, and routed efficiently to the right teams in Japan.

  • Work closely with leaders of Japans marketing teams (PR, design, product marketing, performance marketing, and more) to understand priorities and needs for domestic goals, while discovering and acting on opportunities to scale initiatives globally.

  • Coordinate contributions from Japan teams to U.S. launches, campaigns, brand projects, PR opportunities, design needs, and content production.

  • Anticipate friction points and proactively remove blockers through clear communication, expectation alignment, and follow-through.

  • Ensure the role

    enhances collaboration helping both regions move faster and work together with greater ease.

  • Build processes and norms that help Japans marketing scale its impact globally within existing structures.

  • Build trusted relationships with senior stakeholders in Japan and the U.S.

  • Establish shared planning and coordination rhythms across teams.

  • Translate context not just language to ensure mutual understanding around priorities, constraints, timelines, and decision rights.

  • Foster a collaborative, non-hierarchical partnership model between regions.

  • Improved clarity, speed, and efficiency of cross-regional collaboration.

  • Increased output and quality of Japan-supported marketing work for global audiences.

  • Higher satisfaction from both Japan and U.S. marketing stakeholders.

Reporting to:

Global Marketing Head of LegalOn and collaborating with the Head of the LegalOn Business in Japan.

Required

  • 7+ years in marketing, product marketing, brand, or integrated marketing project leadership.

  • Fluent in Japanese and English (spoken and written); able to convey nuance in both directions.

  • Experience working across international teams or bridging culturally diverse groups.

  • Strong project and program management skills with a history of delivering cross-functional outcomes.

  • Ability to operate with autonomy, make informed decisions, and drive execution in fast-moving environments.

Preferred

  • Experience in B2B SaaS

  • German language ability is a plus

  • Prior work in a high-growth, multinational organization.

  • Familiarity with both Japanese corporate environments and Western (especially U.S.) marketing cultures.

  • Comfortable navigating ambiguity and evolving responsibilities as the company scales.
