IT Manager – Japan
Overview
Reporting directly to the Japan CEO and functionally to the Global Head of IT, the IT Manager will oversee all day-to-day IT operations across the company’s business areas in Japan. This role is responsible for managing POS and ERP systems for retail stores, ensuring smooth and efficient IT support services for both store and office environments. The position also supports retail operations such as monthly inventory checks, logistics coordination, and monitoring system interfaces between warehouse management and enterprise systems.
The ideal candidate will have strong technical expertise in infrastructure, networking, and retail IT systems, with hands-on experience in managing operational and digital transformation projects.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and manage all IT operations, including infrastructure, applications, service desk, and IT-related projects.
Proactively communicate with internal stakeholders to identify challenges, propose solutions, and implement process improvements.
Oversee and coordinate vendors, third-party partners, and internal teams to ensure seamless project execution and reliable daily IT operations.
Manage both on-premises and cloud-based infrastructure, ensuring system stability, performance, and data security.
Supervise in-house system engineers and external vendor staff.
Provide IT training and support to office and store employees.
Deliver hands-on technical support, troubleshooting issues for store and office systems.
Oversee installation, configuration, and maintenance of network infrastructure, servers, PCs, and related hardware and software.
Required Qualifications
Minimum 5 years of experience as an IT Manager or in a similar leadership role.
Proven experience managing small IT teams.
Strong understanding of network infrastructure and system architecture.
Experience in the retail industry, particularly with POS and CRM systems.
Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously with attention to detail.
Solid technical background, including experience with both cloud and on-premises platforms.
Proficiency in MS SQL and Oracle databases.
Business-level English proficiency.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience or familiarity with CEGID and Salesforce systems.
Knowledge of e-commerce or omnichannel retail operations.
Experience leading infrastructure or IT security implementation projects.
