Position Overview

This role is responsible for building strong business relationships with bar suppliers and on-premise outlets within the assigned territory, including bars, restaurants, nightclubs, hotels, and other food and beverage establishments.

The primary objective is to drive sales growth and achieve promotional targets within the on-premise channel across the designated region.

Territory: Fukuoka and Hiroshima

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop a deep understanding of the business models, strategies, and objectives of on-premise outlets within the assigned territory.

  • Utilize data and market insights to identify growth opportunities and potential risks, supporting sound commercial decision-making.

  • Establish and maintain mutually beneficial relationships with bars, restaurants, and secondary wholesalers serving the on-premise sector.

  • Prioritize target outlets and develop, negotiate, and execute territory and customer plans, including trade terms (discounts, rebates), promotional programs, and initiatives to increase in-store visibility and brand activation.

  • Identify and secure new distribution opportunities while strengthening relationships with priority accounts through consistent engagement.

  • Participate in industry and account-related events, coordinate tastings and brand presentations, and support training sessions for managers, owners, and staff.

  • Effectively manage a diverse account portfolio, including accurate demand forecasting.

  • Monitor the effectiveness and return on investment of promotional activities and allocate trade budgets appropriately to ensure sustainable and profitable growth.

  • Provide regular field reports (daily, weekly, and verbal updates) to management, sharing market insights and customer feedback.

  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Sales Planning, Trade Marketing, and other departments to ensure alignment on performance, challenges, opportunities, and future plans.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in sales or marketing.

  • Strong commercial acumen and strategic thinking ability.

  • High integrity and professionalism.

  • Results-driven with a strong sense of ownership.

  • Ability to build productive internal and external relationships and gain alignment on business proposals with managerial guidance.

  • Strong organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize multiple objectives and deliver within defined timelines.

  • Team-oriented mindset with solid conflict management capabilities.

  • Adaptability and resilience in overcoming business challenges.

  • Persuasive communication skills, including influencing, active listening, presenting, and written reporting abilities.

  • Ability to clearly and concisely communicate sales performance and business results.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in the premium or super-premium imported spirits industry, including knowledge of trade margins and rebate structures.

  • On-premise sales or marketing experience within Japan’s food and beverage industry.

  • Experience working in multinational organizations, particularly U.S. or European companies.

  • English language proficiency.
