Role Overview
This position leads the technical and operational setup of payroll & benefits services for new clients in Japan — from gathering employee data to configuring payroll systems and conducting parallel runs. You will act as a bridge between clients, internal teams, and overseas offices, ensuring compliance with Japanese payroll rules while delivering a seamless onboarding experience.
Key Responsibilities
Lead payroll & benefits onboarding projects, including data collection, system setup, parallel runs, and gap analysis
Communicate with clients in Japan and overseas to confirm requirements and explain payroll processes
Provide guidance to clients on Japanese payroll & benefits regulations
Document onboarding procedures and transition clients to the ongoing service team
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet go-live deadlines and project milestones
Requirements
Strong knowledge of Japan payroll & benefits regulations
3+ years’ experience in Japan payroll & benefits (BPO or in-house)
Experience configuring payroll systems (ARDIO, Bugyo, Yayoi preferred)
Intermediate or higher Microsoft Excel skills
Business-level Japanese and English (written & spoken)
