Project Manager (Professional Services – Tokyo, Hybrid)

With the growing importance of IP strategy in Japan, we are seeking a skilled Project Manager (potentially Senior level) to lead implementation projects.
Key Responsibilities
Lead project management for multinational teams, serving as a bridge across cultures and ensuring effective communication.
Collect and analyze complex information quickly and accurately to drive optimal decisions.
Apply advanced risk management and problem-solving skills to secure project success.
Strengthen stakeholder alignment and drive projects with a strategic perspective.
Conduct client-facing presentations, requirement gathering, and coordination with internal and external teams during project kickoffs.
Oversee multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring delivery on time, within budget, and with quality standards.
Demonstrate attention to detail and coordination skills to achieve smooth transitions.
Depending on experience and interview performance, a Senior Project Manager position may be offered.
Required Skills & Experience
Proven experience managing multinational teams and strong cross-cultural communication skills.
Ability to quickly gather, analyze, and interpret complex information.
Strong decision-making, risk management, and problem-solving abilities.
Demonstrated leadership with a strategic mindset.
Extensive experience executing software-related projects.
Excellent presentation, meeting facilitation, and communication skills in Japanese (ability to simplify complex concepts).
Deep knowledge of IT project management concepts, tools, and methodologies.
Strong client management and stakeholder coordination skills, with the ability to prioritize effectively.
Experience managing on-site, remote, and offshore resources.
Willingness to learn and adapt new technologies and knowledge.
Availability to travel when required.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree (BS/BA).
Project management certifications such as PMP or PRINCE2 (preferred).
5+ years of experience as a Project Manager with proven success.
Leadership experience within high-performing teams.
Background in intellectual property projects is a plus.
Native-level Japanese required; English skills preferred but not mandatory.
