Role Overview
The Director, Sales Specialist for Ratings Data & Research will focus on generating new business and expanding product usage among existing clients in Japan. Reporting to the APAC Head of Sales Specialists, you will develop and execute strategic plans to grow the ratings and research business, working closely with internal stakeholders to meet revenue goals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build and expand senior-level client relationships to win new business and drive cross-sell opportunities.

  • Conduct strategic client engagement to identify needs and close opportunities, demonstrating strong product and market expertise.

  • Partner with internal teams such as account management, customer success, product specialists, research, and marketing to develop and execute go-to-market strategies.

  • Influence the competitive landscape by effectively positioning product value.

Qualifications & Required Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Economics, or a related field.

  • 5–10 years of experience in business development, including new client acquisition.

  • Knowledge of fixed income markets and financial data.

  • Proven ability to engage C-level executives and conduct product demonstrations and training.

  • Strong communication skills (written and verbal), including professional business correspondence.

  • Confident phone communication style and ability to rapidly build rapport.

  • Strong organization, time-management, and results-focused mindset.

  • High level of accuracy and proactive working style.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.

  • Native-level Japanese and intermediate English required.

  • CRM experience (e.g., Salesforce) preferred.
