Position Overview

This role is responsible for leading the medical education strategy and execution for Surgical Performance Management (SPM) and ENT portfolios in Japan within an international business structure. The position translates commercial and clinical priorities into high-impact educational initiatives that support safe, effective product adoption.

Working closely with international medical education leadership and local business units, the role owns the full lifecycle of healthcare professional education programs, including strategy development, content creation, execution, and performance evaluation.

Key Responsibilities

Medical Education Strategy and Program Delivery

  • Develop and execute a strategic roadmap and annual medical education plan aligned with business objectives

  • Design educational content, curricula, learning objectives, and participant targeting strategies

  • Deliver high-quality education programs for surgeons, nurses, residents, fellows, and other healthcare professionals

  • Provide on-site support for education programs related to SPM and ENT portfolios

  • Collaborate with international program leaders to ensure alignment with regional and global training strategies

  • Manage education budgets and ensure cost-effective program delivery

  • Establish and maintain partnerships with relevant medical societies and evaluate their impact annually

  • Ensure full adherence to global and local compliance standards, including faculty agreements and regulatory requirements

Innovation and Digital Learning

  • Advance innovative learning approaches, including blended and digital education models

  • Lead the development of locally relevant e-learning content for global learning platforms

  • Support hands-on and experiential training programs, including those delivered through regional training centers

Performance Measurement and Continuous Improvement

  • Implement frameworks to evaluate training effectiveness and product adoption

  • Monitor key performance indicators, participant feedback, and return on investment

  • Prepare regular performance reports for regional and global stakeholders

Compliance and Governance

  • Ensure consistent application of global compliance standards across all education activities

  • Monitor regulatory changes and communicate required updates

  • Identify compliance gaps and training needs across the organization

Team Leadership

  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of two medical education professionals

  • Define clear roles, priorities, and accountability

  • Foster a culture of engagement, high performance, and continuous improvement

  • Oversee workload planning and ensure high-quality execution

Travel

  • Approximately 20–30% domestic travel within Japan

Required Background

Education

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in business or a related discipline

Professional Experience

  • 10+ years of experience in medical education or marketing within the medical device industry

  • Strong experience with SPM and/or ENT product areas

  • Demonstrated success in cross-functional collaboration and stakeholder management

  • Experience leading and developing small teams

  • Strong commercial awareness and business acumen
