Position Overview
The Sales & Service Engineer is responsible for supporting customers by combining technical expertise with commercial responsibility. The role focuses on maintaining customer relationships, providing on-site technical assistance, and achieving sales targets through both service and product solutions.
Key Responsibilities
Manage and support assigned customer accounts across Japan
Travel regularly to customer facilities to provide on-site technical support and consultation
Drive sales activities and meet annual revenue targets
Assist with equipment installations, inspections, and operational optimization discussions
Troubleshoot technical issues and provide recommendations to improve performance
Prepare monthly sales forecasts and operational reports
Build long-term relationships with customers through reliable service and communication
Collaborate with regional and global teams to support product and service initiatives
Note: During the first 2–3 months, the position will require increased presence at the Tokyo office for onboarding and training.
Required Qualifications
Degree or background in engineering (e.g., mechanical, chemical, manufacturing, or related fields)
Approximately 1–3 years of relevant industry experience
Experience in a customer-facing technical or commercial role
Fluent Japanese communication skills
Business-level English proficiency
Willingness to travel frequently within Japan
Preferred Qualifications
Experience related to industrial machinery, manufacturing equipment, or process industries
Exposure to equipment installation, commissioning, or troubleshooting
Existing industry network within manufacturing plants or industrial facilities
