Position: Accountant / Senior Accountant (Tax Accounting Focus)

About the Company
A global commercial vehicle manufacturer operating in over 170 markets worldwide. The company is currently expanding its finance organization as part of a major business integration initiative. This newly structured team is enhancing its accounting and controlling functions to strengthen financial operations both domestically and globally.
The Role
The Accountant / Senior Accountant will be part of the Controlling and Accounting team, responsible for financial reporting, tax accounting, and consolidated closing activities. The position involves close collaboration with both domestic and international finance stakeholders and offers significant exposure to large-scale operations and global reporting standards.
This is a hands-on, growth-oriented role that provides high visibility within the organization during a key transformation period.
Key Responsibilities
Support monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closing and reporting processes.
Manage tax-effect accounting and assist with tax audits and related documentation.
Perform general accounting tasks including journal entries, accounts payable/receivable review, and cash management.
Liaise with internal and external auditors, as well as regional and global headquarters finance teams.
Analyze financial results, monitor budget-to-actual performance, and support management reporting.
Collaborate with international subsidiaries and domestic finance teams to ensure consistency in reporting and compliance.
Requirements
Minimum of 3 years of experience in accounting or auditing (experience in an audit firm also accepted).
Solid understanding of Japan GAAP and closing procedures.
Business-level proficiency in Japanese and the ability to communicate in English with global teams.
Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in IFRS-based consolidated accounting.
Familiarity with ERP systems such as SAP or DIVA.
Certification as a CPA or Licensed Tax Accountant.

Compensation & Benefits
Base salary starting from approximately ¥290,000 per month (final amount based on experience and qualifications).
