Role Summary
As the Brand Manager for myopia control contact lenses, you’ll spearhead strategic marketing and brand development. Your mission will be to cultivate the market, raise awareness among eye-care professionals and patients, and work closely with both local and global teams to strengthen and grow the brand in Japan.
Key Responsibilities
1. Market Strategy & Expansion
Conduct in-depth market research to uncover trends and growth potential in myopia control.
Devise and execute market entry, pricing, and promotional strategies to grow market share and attract new customers.
2. Professional Outreach
Design and facilitate educational programs and workshops for ophthalmologists and other eye-care specialists.
Offer academic support to reinforce professional engagement.
3. Patient Engagement
Plan and execute awareness campaigns aimed at patients and their families.
Develop and manage digital content for websites, social media, and email channels.
Organize patient-focused events and gather feedback.
4. Product & Portfolio Management
Lead product launch initiatives.
Collect and analyze customer feedback to optimize product offerings.
Regularly track sales performance and refine strategies to enhance market success.
5. Integrated Marketing Communications (IMC)
Create unified campaign briefs and key messaging tailored to both professionals and consumers.
Implement a mix of digital and traditional channels based on target behaviors.
Adapt or originate campaigns (messaging, creative, claims) in alignment with regional directives.
Collaborate with internal teams and agencies to develop promotional materials (POP, digital assets, sales tools).
Oversee digital marketing, CRM, advertising, and promotions.
Track KPIs, manage budgets, ensure compliance, and report campaign outcomes.
6. Leadership & Cross-Functional Collaboration
Measure marketing ROI and assess campaign effectiveness.
Coordinate with regional and global marketing teams to share insights and align strategies.
Contribute to shaping long-term regional plans.
Lead cross-functional projects involving Sales, Finance, Operations, Agencies, etc.
Handle timelines, resources, and stakeholder communications efficiently.
Qualifications & Skills
Essential
At least 5 years in marketing, ideally within healthcare or medical device sectors.
Excellent interpersonal, presentation, and communication skills.
Strategic, analytical mindset with solid critical-thinking ability.
Strong organizational and project-management capabilities.
Fluent Japanese with business-level English proficiency.
Proficient user of Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint; familiarity with BI tools like Tableau is a plus.
Preferred
Experience collaborating with digital agencies and web developers.
Background in consumer marketing, branding, or CRM.
Experience in a U.S.-based multinational company.
History of managing events such as trainings or medical conferences.
Self-motivated, keen on personal development and advancing a marketing career.
