About the Role
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Total Rewards Manager to join our Japan HR leadership team. This role is ideal for someone with a solid background in compensation and benefits, who thrives in global environments, and is passionate about developing locally relevant reward strategies that also align with regional and global business objectives.
As a strategic and hands-on contributor, you will collaborate closely with internal stakeholders and global Centers of Excellence to deliver impactful, compliant, and data-driven rewards programs.
What You’ll Do
Develop & execute localized total rewards strategies aligned with corporate direction
Ensure compliance with Japanese labor laws and tax regulations
Partner with regional/global Total Rewards teams to contribute innovative solutions
Own the end-to-end implementation of compensation and benefits initiatives
Conduct market research and internal data analysis to optimize programs
Advise HR and business leaders on compensation, incentive design, and governance
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance employee experience and engagement
What We’re Looking For
Must-Have Qualifications:
8+ years of experience in Total Rewards / Compensation & Benefits within a multinational company
Deep knowledge of Japanese labor and tax laws
Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills
Proven ability to work cross-functionally in global environments
Native-level Japanese and business-level English proficiency
Nice-to-Have:
Background in HR analytics, statistics, or organizational planning
Experience managing projects outside traditional rewards functions
Demonstrated leadership potential and ambition to grow beyond current role
