About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Total Rewards Manager to join our Japan HR leadership team. This role is ideal for someone with a solid background in compensation and benefits, who thrives in global environments, and is passionate about developing locally relevant reward strategies that also align with regional and global business objectives.

As a strategic and hands-on contributor, you will collaborate closely with internal stakeholders and global Centers of Excellence to deliver impactful, compliant, and data-driven rewards programs.

What You’ll Do

  • Develop & execute localized total rewards strategies aligned with corporate direction

  • Ensure compliance with Japanese labor laws and tax regulations

  • Partner with regional/global Total Rewards teams to contribute innovative solutions

  • Own the end-to-end implementation of compensation and benefits initiatives

  • Conduct market research and internal data analysis to optimize programs

  • Advise HR and business leaders on compensation, incentive design, and governance

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance employee experience and engagement

What We’re Looking For

Must-Have Qualifications:

  • 8+ years of experience in Total Rewards / Compensation & Benefits within a multinational company

  • Deep knowledge of Japanese labor and tax laws

  • Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills

  • Proven ability to work cross-functionally in global environments

  • Native-level Japanese and business-level English proficiency

Nice-to-Have:

  • Background in HR analytics, statistics, or organizational planning

  • Experience managing projects outside traditional rewards functions

  • Demonstrated leadership potential and ambition to grow beyond current role
