Key Responsibilities

Strategic Planning (40%)

  • Evaluate and predict trends in the market and healthcare economy.

  • Integrate academic research and clinical insights into product planning.

  • Develop and execute plans for new product introductions or modifications.

  • Foster strong partnerships with Global Business Areas (BA), R&D, and production teams.

  • Manage and enhance strategies for sales channel performance.

Business Management (30%)

  • Create and oversee the yearly sales budget, tracking performance against targets.

  • Collaborate with logistics teams to ensure effective inventory control.

  • Align with the sales team on monthly forecasting and projections.

  • Work alongside the quality department to resolve product issues or defects.

Marketing Activities (30%)

  • Build and maintain relationships with Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs).

  • Design and implement sales promotion strategies, including the creation of supporting tools.

  • Produce and provide materials to support sales activities.

  • Develop communication strategies targeted at healthcare professionals.

  • Organize and oversee participation in academic conferences, study sessions, and similar events.

  • Deliver product training internally and externally, and support the ongoing skill development of the sales team.

Quality & Compliance Responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance with internal policies and corporate guidelines.

  • Maintain necessary certifications and competencies for product-related operations.

  • Adhere to regulations such as Japan’s PMD Act and fair trade practices.

  • Foster a culture that prioritizes quality and compliance, aiming to surpass regulatory standards when feasible.

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications

  • 5+ years of product management experience in the medical device industry.

  • Strong knowledge of the relevant clinical field and regulatory environment (e.g., Pharmaceuticals and Medical Devices Act).

  • Experience with strategic planning, project management, and data analysis.

  • Native-level Japanese and business-level English (reading, writing, speaking).

  • Proficient in presentation, multitasking, and cross-functional collaboration.

Additional Information

  • Frequent domestic travel (minimum once per week) required for conferences, training, and customer visits (overnight stays expected).
